What to know before going to Sa Riera Beach

Sa Riera is the largest cove in the municipality of Begur, with more than 200 meters in length. If you are planning to spend a few days in Begur, you cannot miss a visit to this unique beach, with Port des Pi on the right and Cala del Rey on the left. Its name comes from a torrent that was once divided into two parts. On one side we find boats and on the other all the space for bathers. In front of the beach some of the fishermen’s houses with porches are still preserved.

Access to Sa Riera

Being the largest and the busiest beach in Begur, it is very easily accessible. It can be accessed by car, by boat or on foot along the coastal path. In addition, it is very accessible for people with reduced mobility, with ramps and walkways to the shore, but also with accessible toilets and showers and an assistance service for bathers with disabilities. If you decide to go to Sa Riera beach on a good excursion, it is great to do it along the coastal path that connects Sa Riera with Platja del Racó, passing through Illa Roja. The route does not last more than an hour (round trip) and although there are some descents with stairs, it is of low difficulty. Along this route that runs along the coast, you will be able to admire beautiful views of the waters and beaches of the area.
